The real life after matric.

Grade10, grade 11 and then grade 12 I swear you have your entire life already planned out and so exited to finally go to varsity, meet new friends including a boyfriend/girlfriend and finally move away from your parents and own your first apartment, well that’s what we all think it is..the glitz and glam we see on media is not how everything is going to fall out for all of us yeah some are lucky and some are not and if you’re lucky all the best the world is yours go on and explore,CIAO.Today I am going to clearly explain what really happens after matric so you guys don’t end up making the wrong decisions.
-your old classmates are lucky enough to go to University’s or college
-some get jobs
-some build huge side hustle’s
-others take gap year’s

Yeah I know the only thing you don’t want to do up there is take a gap year whilst the people you know are busy with their life’s right?let me tell you the story of my life after matric.

I won’t lie my highschool was a blast I had the time of my life,I went to a boarding school and anything I needed I would call my parents and it would be delivered tomorrow, spoilt Right?so during my matric year I knew that I had to start applying as soon as possible and it was obvious because everyone around me was talking about applications and student admissions but yet I took nothing serious I was just cruising through the matric life.My parents used to send me different prospectus’s from Universities and I used to have one look and just close my phone and continue having fun, in reality I thought my parents were going to apply for me so I was relaxed and by the way the people around me just used to talk about the applications but we’rent applying, that was suspicious. So I remember one of my classmates was telling her friends that she got accepted at one of the Universities..Damn that’s when I woke up and decided to take everything serious,I went to the schools computer room and started applying at that point it’s just me and the computer,I don’t know anything about applying and I’m just agreeing to any question the computer is asking me, No at this point I just realised that I just need to relax I’ll apply later this is when everything got messed up.fast forward to January I got my results and I passed with a bachelor aggregate I was happy but worried about University.when it was time for University registration almost everyone was boasting about going to University even the people I used to hang out with that didn’t show or even talk about University were going to University. There was nothing I could do but take a gap year.i tried taking late applications and agreeing to any course that was offered which was very wrong but still I wasn’t winning.
So grade 12 my advice to you is that have fun when it’s time to have fun and remember that your life only Starts when you’re doing matric.take everything serious and don’t continue using the last grades mentality that when you’re about to write an exam and ask your friend if she studied and she says no and you feel better or protected, she’s lying to you.START LOOKING OUT FOR YOURSELF,no one has time to look out for you.
2- ask someone older at home to help you with your application if you feel like school work is too much
3-be alert and updated on the Universities you want to apply to and check the opening and closing dates
4-the earlier you apply the better.
5-if you don’t get the chance to go to university don’t fuss about it instead look at it as a chance to know yourself better and actually use that gap year to make money for  yourself.
6- lastly if your classmates end up pushing big side hustles don’t feel left out, the only difference between you and them is that they were more fortunate to get jobs and that you’re chance is coming don’t rush things, you don’t know how they got there.

Stay safe and blessed but most importantly ZWAKALA let’s address whatever you want to be addressed.Peace.
